Steve Goldstein

Steven N Goldstein has been at NSF since 1989. His major responsibility is international networking coordination in support of the communication needs of the US research and education communities. Most recently Steve has directed two new initiatives:

1. Telecommunicaiton via Internet with countries of the former Soviet Union, which is sponsored by the International Science Foundation, ISF. A new 64kbps Internet link has just been inplemented between Mosc ow and the Global Internet Exchange, GIX, which is being set up by international service providers in Washington DC.
2. The implementation of a satellite gateway in Homestead, Florida, for access to the Internet from Latin American countries.

His responsibilities at NSF also extend to applications for dealing with networked information discovery and retrieval.
